It's origin is said to come from the
historic night of 1810, while the French navy was trying to keep the English vessels away of the "Grand Port" harbour
in the South, several of the English vessels disembarked at "Cap Malheureux" to take over the island from the French. Due
to this unexpected military strategy, the French had no choice but to sign the famous capitulation of the island on that

Cap Malheureux is a small fishing village located on the northernmost tip of Mauritius. Cap Malheureux offers
magnificent views of some small islands off the coast, such as Ile Plate, famous for its lighthouse, Ile Ronde, a

Le Phare is a beautiful villa with terracotta roof,
80 metres from the beach and in the 3rd row from the sea,
it has a direct access to the beach and sea via a private lane.

Water depth is relatively low on the beach, progressively going deeper further out, which means that children can swim or
paddle in relative safety.
